Stages of EcoSol® pouch dissolving in water
EcoSol®: Sustainable packaging solution from EcoCortec®
Made from water soluble, bio- degradable, polyvinylalcohol (PVOH) film, EcoSol® water soluble pouches are the newest generation of packaging solutions produced from EcoCortec®. These PVOH bags, sa- chets or pouches provide a convenient, safe, and economical delivery system for both dry powders and liquid pro- ducts. The film has excellent organic solvent resistance, and also offers very good mechanical properties: tensile strength, tear strength and puncture resistance. These properties allow the product to be used in a wide variety of rigorous applications.
After few minutes of immersion at the specified temperature, EcoSol® dissolves in water leaving a harmless, non-toxic, aqueous solution of poly-

vinyl alcohol releasing the packaged product to do its work. Once the liquid solution of PVOH comes into contact with common microorganisms, such as those found in water-treatment plants, conversion to carbon dioxide and wa- ter takes place within about 30 days.
Based in Croatia, EcoCortec® is all set to deliver the custom made pouches to its European and Asian customers. Products packaged in this water soluble pouch can be thrown into a treatment area without removing the film. Mecha- nical properties of EcoSol® packaging conforms the normative of ASTM D 882- 02 for Braking factor, Tensile Strength of break, Elongation and Yield Strength; It's Tear Strength is tested according ASTM D 1922-06a and Dart Drop Impact resistance - per ASTM D 1709-04.
