Aplant-based source of Omega-3, Sacha oil is a remarkable alterna- tive to fish oil for vegetarians. It con- tains a unique fatty acid composition with 50% Omega-3 fatty acids and around 33% omega-6 fatty acids, and was allowed entry to the European food market for the first time in 2013.
Taiwan and Malaysia were the most important markets for Peruvian sacha inchi oil, jointly concentrating 70% of the total shipments, which between January and July amounted to US $ 1 million 654 thousand, reported the Association’s Agro-Export Management Exporters (ADEX).

skin and hair). All this influenced the amount of this year (US $ 1 million 654 thousand) to grow 7% compared to the same period last year (US $ 1 mil- lion 543 thousand).
Between January and July 2021, Tai- wan requested it for US $ 691,621, con- centrating 42% and Malaysia for US $ 467,340, 28% –conventional and organic presentation–. While Taiwan reduced its orders by -25%, others such as Malay- sia, Spain and Germany increased it by 144%, 224% and 499%, respectively. The US, Czech Republic, New Zealand, Aus- tralia, Canada and Mexico also made up this portfolio.
