Leybold introduces dry rough vacuum CLAWVAC pump
Especially for rough industrial pro- cesses Leybold introduces the uncomplicated, dry rough vacuum CLAWVAC pump. Besides food pro- cessing, packaging and environmental technology applications, it is suitable for drying and sterilization processes. The pump, which is offered in three pumping speed classes, is specially designed for continuous operation at every working pressure. Additionally the special pump design avoids that oil
comes into contact
with pumped gases,
what allows higher
Oxygen applications.

as well as for research, at the same mo- ment offers with the CLAWVAC System series a new multiple pump system.

These systems are based on CLAWVAC and offer a redundant plug-and-play solution.
The simple handling of the robust pump can also be attributed to its ope- rating principle: A pair of stainless steel claw rotors rotating in the pump stator completely free of contact and wear. The CLAWVAC set-up is based on a quick component replacement, which has to
ensure a minimal downtime and low service costs. "Thanks to this pump cha- racteristic, we have reduced the amount of servicing required and improved the environmental balance," explains Niels Gorrebeeck, Product Manager Rough
EcoVadis Gold Medal: Krones bags sustainability award
All-round partner for the beverage and liquid-food in- dustry, Krones secured 66 out of 100 possible points and a position among the best two percent of its industri- al sector in this year’s rating, thereby receiving the Eco- Vadis gold medal in recognition of this achievement. The internationally approved CSR platform EcoVadis evaluated more than 65,000 companies from 160 countries every year.
Upgrade over the previous year
After having reached the silver medal in the previous year, the company was able to still increase its achieve- ments. Welf Kramer, Head of Corporate Governance, at- tributes this improvement to the climate strategy recently adopted by Krones, and to the progress the Group has
made in the area of human rights. According to the Sci- ence Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), Krones' climate targets will help to limit global warming caused by the greenhouse effect to 1.5 degrees Celsius. The company plans to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 percent by 2030.
The results of the annual rating are published in detail on an online platform. They can be seen by the customers of the assessed companies, which are also registered with EcoVadis. “Many large beverage manufacturers are mem- bers of the EcoVadis network, as they are actively intere- sted in the sustainability performance of their suppliers. A good position in the rating is therefore no nice-to-have for us, but first and foremost a signal to our customers: We take the issue of sustainability seriously”, explained Kramer.
