Synerlink: Commitment to hygiene and safety
Synerlink, a Barry-Wehmiller Pack- aging Systems company, has joined the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) - a global non-profit foundation and worldwide knowledge-sharing community. By joining EHEDG, the filling and packag- ing machine provider will bolster its ability to identify and pursue top hy- giene and food safety practices on be- half of its customers.
“For Synerlink, hygiene is insepara- ble from the packaging innovation pro- cess,” said Fabien Jégo, Design Leader for Synerlink’s industrial packaging de- sign group. “Before we design a new filling solution, our engineers must carefully consider hygiene and food safety at every stage of the packaging process. EHEDG will augment our per- spective in this area”, said Jégo.
EHEDG provides members with ac- cess to several resources, including

guideline development tools, training and education, testing and certifica- tions. These resources will help Syner- link and its customers remain compli- ant and promote hygiene throughout the production, processing and pack- aging of food products.
“By tapping into global industry as- sociations like EHEDG, we can better guide customers through the ever- changing landscape of hygienic food and beverage packaging,” said Jean- Pierre Orenge, Global Bottle Filling Product Line Leader for Synerlink. “The ability to connect with other equipment manufacturers, food pro- cessing companies, research institutes and public health authorities on these issues is indispensable.”
EHEDG is one of several associations Synerlink has partnered with to expand its organizational knowledge on this topic. The company has also partnered
with Praxens, a microbiology labora- tory, and the Centre Technique de la Conservation des Produits Agricoles (CTCPA), a French technical center assisting food industry professionals. Synerlink also maintains close connec- tions with the 3-A Sanitary Standards, and will pursue additional affiliations and certifications throughout 2022.
