Alimentaria 2021: Facilitating transversal synergies
Aunique food, drinks and gastrono- my experience, Alimentaria is the leading food, beverage and gastrono- my show that reflects the innovations and trends of the market. Organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions S.A. and Reed Exhibitions Companies, Alimentaria 2021 will be held from 17 to 20 May 2021 at Barcelona, Spain. Josep Lluís Bonet, president of Alimentaria said, “Our common objective is, as always, to be a great tool for the industry, its projection and to achieve the best pos- sible edition and participation.”
Alimentaria 2021, which will be held at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue, will project innovation and gastro- nomy as its benchmark values. After cancelling Alimentaria 2020, the dates for Alimentaria 2021 was announced following a common agreement with the industry. The General Manager of Fira de Barcelona, Constantí Serral- longa, said that “we have chosen the new dates after assessing the situati- on in depth and listening to the sector,
whom we thank for their support, in or- der to guarantee the best development of such a relevant event at national and international level, and thus contribute to the reactivation of a key industry for the country’s economy”.
The event will continue to include the meat (Intercarn), dairy (Interlact), canning (Expoconser), confectionery and snacks (Snacks, Biscuits & Con- fectionery), Mediterranean diet, fresh products, olive oils and vegetables (Mediterranean Foods) and food ser- vice (Restaurama) shows. Alongside them, Grocery Foods will bring toge- ther the leading mass-market compa- nies and the latest trends will be shown at Alimentaria Trends, which will inclu- de delicatessen, organic and functional foods, among others. Lands of Spain, with the best native Spanish produc- tion; and the International Pavilion will complete the offer.
Alimentaria is a true economic and social engine. One of the magnitudes that reflect the importance of this
event is the estimated 900 million eu- ros of impact on the Catalan economy, including both exhibitors’ and visitors’ expenses and the potential business generated by holding it, according to a recent study by the University of Bar- celona (UB).
In addition to presenting a commer- cial platform, Alimentaria shows its clo- se relationship with the tourism sector and the food industry, placing value on gastronomy, innovation and trends through a wide range of activities.
In this sense, for J. Antonio Valls, General Manager of Alimentaria Ex- hibitions, “a new scenario is opening up which makes it possible to foresee a great edition for May 2021 with the com- plicity of the industry, with a high degree of internationalisation and a reactivation of international demand which is so ne- cessary both for the industry and for the trade show itself”. In this way, the cele- bration of Alimentaria in May guarantees the full internationality of the show, one of its great assets.
