INGREDIENTS
Best ingredients do not need additives
More than satisfying one’s hun- ger, food means far beyond these days. As the saying goes, ‘you
are what you eat’, the food we con- sume is looked upon as a functional element that influences one’s health, well-being, and also body weight. No wonder, dietary trends are much more the in thing. Clean Label, is a leading diet plan followed by consu- mers who value a healthy and natural diet, especially natural foods without additives.
Being a producer of dried plant- based raw materials, Kräuter Mix GmbH has always met a clean label, producing herbs and spices that are free from flavor enhancers, preser- vatives and colorings, as well as her- bal and fruit teas free from flavorings for the beverage industry. The recipe changes allow Kräuter Mix to offer their customers from trade and in- dustry alike a wide range of spices
made exclusively from natural pro- ducts, all while still maintaining its familiar flavor. The company’s spice blends, a few of which did contain additives, have all been transformed

into clean-label recipes, meaning only natural ingredients are used. Most of their spice blends have always had a ‘clean’ label.
Chicken spice mix, a clean ingredient!
Kräuter Mix brings a product that falls under the Clean Label initiative- the chicken spice mix. Its salty, flavor- ful taste with sweet notes of mild pa- prika and Mediterranean undertones is rounded off by a gentle peppery- chili heat. Its sensory profile makes for versatile seasoning. Besides poultry, it works well with other meats, as well as cheeses, pasta, and sauces.
Herbal and fruit teas also open up a world of possibilities. The choice of over 400 herbs, fruits, and other parts of plants, including flowers, seeds, buds, and roots, allows for a huge range of flavors without adding anything extra – whether natural or artificial. Rosehip peel and hibiscus blossoms or apples are often the core ingredients in a fruit tea, adding a tart and yet fruity fullness to the blend. Equally, in an herbal tea blend, for example, chamomile or mint offers the right base of flavors. While Kräuter Mix is opting for clean-label pro- ducts for its own new developments, the industrial supplier will also produce blends with flavorings to the customer’s specification.
