science is now an exponentially in- creasing field of research for improving positive public health outcomes with therapeutic potential. This includes quercetin and quercetin derivatives, however other flavonoids like cyani- dins are rapidly gaining traction in the nutrition science field and are likely to see similar scientific attention in the next decade. Quercetin is one of the most studied flavonoids in its poten- tial for rejuvenating our metabolism, but some recent studies suggest that cyanidins may potentially have up to 5-fold greater benefit for supporting
healthy metabolism as we age. Nu- trafruit have always been focused in the past on building products of our own in the value added space, this devel- opment marks a big shift for us into the supply of ingredients and the use of the cellular extraction and the exclusive part- nering with Native Extracts means that the whole fruit extract is now available for other companies to work with taking the opportunities to a whole new level,” says Dr Stephens.

pharmaceutical opportunities are already being developed from ‘Her Majesty’.
Lisa Carroll, Managing Director at Na- tive Extracts, recounts “the thorough trialling process of R&D design and testing six different protocols across multiple extraction processes and ex- tractant mediums, rigorous testing and further testing in-house, collaborating with multiple university laboratories; we narrowed the first phase of com- mercialization to two variants specific to topical and ingestible applications. And have further concepts to leverage this fruits’ potential.”
WS Warmsener Spezialitäten GmbH takes over PARAD ICE ice cream
For more than 100 years, fresh milk from the region has been pro- cessed into finished and semi-finished milk products at the Warmsen site. The milk specialist, WS Warmsener Spezi- alitäten GmbH (a part of the Uelzena Group since 2006), produces sweet- ened condensed milk, cream and cus- tomized milk products for the confec- tionery, chocolate, ice cream and food processing industries. By the end of the year, the company will take over the production facilities and the com- plete product range for PARAD ICE ice cream mixes from Elsdorfer Molkerei und Feinkost GmbH.
As a strategic expansion of its prod- uct range, the dairy specialist WS Warmsener Spezialitäten GmbH, a company of the Uelzena Group, is in- vesting in the production of liquid mix- es for soft ice cream and milk shakes. For this purpose, the company is taking over the complete production facilities and the registered trademark “PARAD ICE” from the Elsdorfer Molkerei und Feinkost GmbH. in spring 2022. “We are very pleased that the management of the Elsdor- fer Molkerei has given us their trust and that we are allowed to take over the complete ice cream mix business. The new products are an optimal ad- dition to our range of milk-based in- gredients for the confectionery, ice cream and food industries and we can especially continue to expand our competence as a supplier for ice cream.” comments Johannes Rother, Managing Director, Marketing and
Sales of WS Warmsener Spezialitäten GmbH on the agreed transfer.
The new product range includes bag-in-box packed liquid mixes for soft ice cream, classic ice cream, frozen yoghurt, milk shakes and water ice and is primarily addressed to the customer groups of wholesalers and specialist retailers, system gastronomy and ice cream parlors. In addition to the PARAD ICE brand, customers can also get their own branding for the products.
