Natural, plant-based ingredients, such as tea infusions, botanical ex- tracts, Optifine Powders, cereals, nuts and pulses, juices and purées, functio- nal fruit powders and vitamins and mi- neral mixtures, can be used in a wide range of applications.
These ingredients are used to cre- ate healthy and refreshing smoothies, energizing teas, delicious and creamy dairy substitutes or functional pow- ders as nutritional supplements – Doehler’s comprehensive portfolio of functional ingredients allows a multi- tude of positioning for products with healthy added value.
“Superfruits”, such as baobab, and elderberry are perceived to have health-promoting properties and are used in a wide variety of foods and beverages, primarily due to their inhe- rently high content of secondary plant substances and vitamins.
The acerola cherry is another super- fruit and a true vitamin C blast. When adhering to specific dosages, this
completely natural trendy ingredient allows you to make claims in line with the Health Claims Regulation.
Possible applications include using acerola cherries as a nutritional sup- plement, for example in tablets or powders.
The superfruit can also provide an added value in other products such as protein shakes as well as in confec- tionery or cereal bars. Over the last two years, the number of new pro- ducts containing acerola launched in the food sector has risen by 23%.
Probiotics also contain numerous health-promoting properties, inclu- ding the maintenance and restorati- on of a healthy intestinal flora. This in turn has a positive effect on the hu- man immune system.
Doehler offers probiotics in form of probiotic fruit granulates. These crunchy and colorful ingredients im- press with their authentic fruit taste, while containing living probiotic cul- tures.
